Whitharral vs Motley County

I'm surprised no one has commented on this one.
Motley was picked by 45 over Whitharral, but lost by 40 points.
An 8-2 team blown out by a 3-7 one. Sure makes that WD win over Motley look less impressive now.

Congrats to whitharil nothing taking away but Whitedeer beating motley county was not impressive at all mc is down this year and rated because of past and schedule so they both are in the gym along with groom as we were not the better teams

I also am curious what happened here... looking at Whitharral's schedule.. they actually only beat 2 weak teams this year... Kress and Labuddie. And lost to a bunch of other seemingly weak teams. Motley Co smoked everyone on their schedule aside from Crowell and White Deer..and both were good games.

What is the story?

I was at this game, as I have been to every Whitharral game this year. The entire year has been a roller coaster. First, three starters from last years team did not play this year. Second, QB broke his wrist in 2nd scrimmage. TB hobbled through first three games and sat the next two with knee complications. Another starter dealt with high blood pressure issues early in season. Another starter dealing with back tightness early, and a severe rib contusion, just to name a few obstacles we’ve faced. All the while, even in our losses, played with most of our opponents for parts of the game, but always seemed to lose momentum somewhere, bad. Everyone finally healthy right before district. Beat Kress and Lazbuddie, then had the lead on Amherst in 2nd, 24-6, but 5 turnovers in 2nd, Amherst stole momentum. A Cotton Center forfeit, a JV pick up game, then Motley.

Untimely penalties and turnovers helped keep momentum on our side. Coupled with the fact that our boys played their best 4 Qtr game of the year. It’s really that simple. IMHO

Congrats to Coach Fryar, Coach Flores and the Whitharral Panthers!!! I know the coaching staff had a great game plan and it sounds like the players bought in and executed it well. I'm proud of them and wish them the best of luck against Valley.

Impressive! That is the story I was looking for! I will always have a little place in my heart for Whitharral ... after being at the 96 state game ;)
