My dear alma mater, the Warhawks of U Wis - Whitewater won their 6th NCAA D3 title in the last 8 years on Fri. 12/19, defeating Mount Union in the annual invitational tournament 43-34.
The Whitewater coach, Lance Leopold, is moving on to D-1 Univ. of Buffalo (which coincidentally, broke a 46 game or so winning streak by beating Whitewater in 2012 by a 7-3 score) and the long-time Whitewater football coach, Forest Perkins (who was coach while I was there in the 70s and for whom the stadium is named) passed away this week at the age of 94.
