Bump. Well I guess not many people post or look on the district thread anymore. I really meant what I said on the congratulations/proud part. I guess I should have posted this on the sixman foot ball thread. I wanted to congratulate him and his team in public. I consider it a big step for him & the Horns. They did overcome a 45 point underdog rating by the best computer model available. In the paper before the game he said he considered it an honor to still be part of the rivalry. The biggest game I ever seen up till 2003 was the 98 semi between Strawn - Trinidad. It was the only game he and my nephew lost that year - to the state champs. He played under Parham, mentored under Lee and I believe Reed, was an assistant coach w/Reed to SC game. Now he's the enemy. STRAWN WILL WIN NEXT YEAR AND YOU KNOW IT. I consider Shane a friend. Not a close friend, but closer than an a aquaintance. I've seen him play football, play guitar & sing and Coach and on my front porch hunting help for a test. He still say's hi & shakes my hand. I'll be proud to shake your hand in congratulation's the next time I see you.
I am certain that if your congratulations have been read, they have been accepted. haha Some of these district pages certainly have been dead for the last couple of years.
I dont believe Coach Mallory was ever "under" Reed. He was a senior when Parham took over at Strawn. Reed came to Strawn later. Mallory was a student assistant under Lee before going to Woodson.
It was a good win for Gordon. Coach Mallory has been building a heck of a football program. All of his teams beat Strawn this year and apart from the JH "B" team, they are all undefeated. It is also the first time since 2003 that the Gordon varsity team has started 5-0. I would not be surprised if Gordon wins a lot of games for several years to come.

My boy is the team manager for Strawn so I have to have my loyalty there even though I am a Gordon grad. Having said all of that................

I do think Gordon has a great chance at making the playoffs. I feel that when a team goes the whole year ending the game at halftime they do not really get a chance to really play. Gordon is playing all of the games to the very end. This will give them an upper hand later in the season/playoffs. Can they take Throck? (little chuckle and slight smile here) We will see.
Keep up the good work Coach, players, support staff and Fans. THE HORNS ARE BACK!!!!!!!!!!! Be scared, be VERY SCARED!!!!!!!

Who has Gordon played this year. How do you see the Gordon-Knox City game ending. I hope Gordon does not look past them for that Throck game cause the Throck game could be their last. The KC Greyhounds aint out of the mix. Tough schedule and injuries which should be healed in two weeks.

Yes, they did play last year. I expect a rematch this year. Aquilla will win this year. They are playing as a team. Last year Aquilla played a good first half, but fell apart in the second half. This year the Cougars have improved every game and have put together an exceptional defense. Throck will be held to their lowest score of the season.
