Week 7 Player of the Week:
A little late getting this out, but here ya go, after much deliberation, your week 7 Six-Man Player of the Week:

Patrik McCauley – Savoy – 29-242 yards, 3 Touchdowns rushing; 1-78 yards, 2 Touchdowns receiving; 12 tackles; 4-6 PAT kicks
It is hard to give one player the player of the week award from a Savoy team that knocked off the previously undefeated Saint Jo Cardinals in the way they did, as the whole team turned in a solid effort in the 50-45 win on the final play of the game. Jake Popowski (18 tackles, 80 yards, 2 Touchdowns rushing), Jonny Stone (2-2 for 81 yards, 2 Touchdowns passing) and Braeden Dillon (12 tackles, and an amazing catch and pitch on the final hook and ladder play of the game) all deserve a mention here. McCauley’s 300+ yards of offense and scoring the game winning touchdown taking the pitch on the hook and ladder leads me to lean his way for this honor.

Honorable Mentions:
Seth Bearden – Crowell – 14-18-0 for 366 yards, 8 Touchdowns passing; 8/12 PAT kicks
Big night passing for Bearden and made 8 PAT kicks adding 16 points to the scoreboard for the Wildcats in their big 95-73 district win over Knox City.

Wyatt Sisco – Sterling City – 21-249 yards, 3 Touchdowns rushing; 9-13-0 for 125 yards, 5 Touchdowns passing; 10 tackles
Sisco did it all for the Eagles going over 200 yards rushing and 100 yards passing and recoded double digit tackles in a district win over Water Valley.

Kyler Degan – Motley County – 26-434 yards, 10 Touchdowns rushing; 21 tackles; 1-19 yards, 1 touchdown receiving
It is getting kind of old mentioning this guy every week, but he is making himself, and the Matadors, impossible to ignore. What’s more impressive here? His 21 tackles, 11 Touchdowns scored, or his third game going over 400 yards rushing?

Taron Smith – Milford – 4-159 yards, 2 Touchdowns on Kick-Off Returns; 10-15-2 for 222 yards, 2 Touchdowns passing; 7-119 yards 1 touchdown rushing; 1-1 yard receiving; 8 tackles
Smith proved deadly in three aspects of the game in Milford’s 54-28 win over Calvert as he returned two kick offs back for Touchdowns, threw for two Touchdowns, and rushed for over 100 yards and a touchdown.

Colton Fowler – Iredell – 15 tackles, 1 INT; 5-133 yards, 3 Touchdowns receiving; 5-7-0 for 93 yards, 1 touchdown passing; 4-20 yards rushing; 3 PAT kicks
Fowler did a little bit of everything very well against a Jonesboro team that was healthier than they have been in several weeks as the Dragons won 52-20.

Jerry Lee Cadena – Grandfalls-Royalty – 8-127 yards, 2 Touchdowns receiving; 2 INTs, 7 tackles; 3 total Touchdowns scored
Cadena played a vital role on offense, leading his team in receiving, and defense with his 2 INTs as the Cowboys win a big district game against Sanderson 42-24.

Christian Espinoza – Northside – 3-139 yards, 2 Touchdowns rushing; 1 KO return for a touchdown
Four touches for three touchdowns for Espinoza as Northside remains undefeated on the season knocking off Chillicothe in district play 56-0.
