JC McDonald #3 (Senior) of Panther Creek in there 79-73 win over Robert Lee in OT

Kick Return: 1 return 13 yards

Defense: 14 tackles, 11 solo, 6 assist, 1 forced fumble, 1 pick
This is no doubt a great performance! I am going to use this as an example to clear up some of the common terminology mistakes people make when taking stats as it provides two common mistakes made.

Not picking on anyone here but this is a good example of why I stopped trying to collect "All Purpose Yards" stats...All Purpose yards is all yards gained by a player with possession of the ball...thus the receivers are who gains the "all-purpose yardage" not the passer.
All Purpose Yards is all yards Gained/lost by a player via: rushing, receiving, returns, and yards gained from gaining/lost possession of the ball on a defensive turnover (ie if you returned an INT or recovered fumble)
For the passer yards of "total offense" adds in passing, rushing, and receiving yards
So based on the stats given here for example...JC McDonald would have 237 All Purpose Yards and 498 yards of Total Offense. He did not have 511 All-Purpose yards.
Also...You would say he had a hand in 11 TDs, but he did not score 11 TDs as he only scored 5...receivers are who the points scored go toward. This is the other common mistake made as people think the passer scored the TDs and in reality they did not
