To all the schools that doesn't already know, yes we are a charter school and a UIL school.

Are you being placed in a district next season or will you play outlaw?

Outlaw....because we had 104 at the time (after Christmas our number are down to 92...isn't that how it goes) and our girl to boy rartio is 3 to 1. And not all boys like football, so we had the choice to go outlaw or go 11-man with 16 guys.
Outlaw sounded better than canceling after 3 or 4 11-man games.

My guess is that UIL is extremely strict on rules with charter schools. My guess is that about half of them prefer to play independent (vs. private schools, since UIL rules penalize UIL members who lose to UIL-eligible non-member schools). In San Antonio, there is a charter school conference of six or seven schools (many operated by the same operator) in basketball.

We actually have been trying to get into a district. I guess we'll find out come Feb. 21 when I go to Austin to appeal.
