UIL rules regarding practice.

I was wondering what the guidelines for practice regarding the amount of time the players can practice each day is. Is the amount of time the same for all sports? For example does basketball practice, football practice, and baseball practice all have a set amount of time per day. Just trying to educate myself so all help will be appreciated.

Best place to check would be the UIL website. You might have to hunt a bit, but I think UIL issues a guidebook on each sport with contest rules (ie, number of games allowed, eligibility, season and limitations on practice time, etc.)

In fact, here's the link to the current UIL basketball manual http://www.uiltexas.org/basketball/manual

Did a quick read ... I believe there is an 8 hr per week practice limitation, but don't take my word for it ...

Football and basketball there is an 8 hour out of school limit. This means the athletic period does not count and things such as non sport specific weights and conditioning do not count. I do not know about baseball because I have never coached at a school with baseball.
