Town East @ Freddy

I always look forward to this game (dont know why, I always lose this game (except once :P )). I believe it is going to be an extremely close contest. I expect it to be low scoring also. I will give details of the game tonight when I get home.

That's one win more than most of us have ...

Well here is the recap of last nights game for all those interested. First of all, let me say that Freddy is nothing but class. I hate losing to them, but if I am going to lose to any team it might as well be them, they are the team that always wins with class, if you know what I mean.
Freddy got the ball to start the game and Town East was able to hold them. TE got the ball and scored, but missed the PAT. Freddy would take the next possession and score as well, knotting it up at 6-6 at the end of the quarter I believe. TE would score next to go up 12-6 early in the 2nd quarter, only to have Freddy score the next two touchdowns to grab a 20-12 half-time lead.
TE pretty much owned the third quarter controlling the ball and clock. The third quarter ended with TE behind 26-24. TE started the 4th quarter with a second and goal at the Freddy five yard line. but on third down we had a penalty then a fumble, and this is where the momentum really swung in Freddy's favor, this is where the game was decided (I believe). Freddy would go on to score and make the PAT to go up 34-24 and it was pretty much game over from there. We continued to fight until the very end, we just came up alittle short.
Not making excuses, but we really missed our starting center tonight, we were not able to make any of our PAT's tonight partly because he wasn't in there. I don't know if he will play next week against Lifegate or not, it is still 50-50. He is a big part of what we do offensively also, and I had kids playing out of their normal position all night trying to cover for him and that would hurt us on many plays. I look forward to playing Lifegate next week, should be a fun game. This district race is going to go down to the last week of the season.

It appears the reports of the demise of the Fredricksburg Heritage Eagles season have been greatly exaggerated.

But the level of their competitors looks better this year, too. So I am looking forward to a great championship playoff season.

I'm still not ready to say the dynasty is dead, either ...

From the reports I heard, Heritage was able to convert on offense after holding Town East deep in their territory several times. And even an over-rated coach like Tim Shipman can figure a way to score when you start inside the opponents' 20 ...

I expect that Town East will be working on its punting game this week.
