Top Returning Running Backs

Can we make a list of the top RB's to watch this year.. pre-season all-state and such? Who should we be watching around the state as the season progresses?

Keep an eye on Tyler Spurgeon in Mount Calm. Put in a great off season and has the potential to be a 2000+ yard back.

Everett from Cherokee.

Expect Langford from Abbott to have a pretty good season also.

I am hearing good things about JaQuan Thompson of Calvert coming back. If he can stay healthy, he has the speed to do big things this year.

Sophomore Jake Gerber out of Nazareth will be a big force in their offense. Plays well both with power and speed.

Jeremy Jackson from Water Valley should put up some pretty good numbers this coming year. He's the state champion in the 200m and has shown flashes of brilliance in the past two years. Of course, talk is talk and we'll have to wait and see what happens on the field but I'm looking for big things from the young man this year.

I forgot about Tavenn Raynor out of Sterling City. That kid can really play. He reminds me a bit of Josh Colunga from Garden City.

From what I have seen in the last few years, I will be watching the kid from Jonesboro. I think he is a senior this year. Very fast and quick. Looked impressive against Calvert last year.

I think Smith from Milford will be fun to watch again this year.

Tristan Garza from Petersburg had a very solid sophomore season last year. Feel like this will be a breakout season for the Kid.

Well, there is that kid from Richland Springs... Tippie I think his name is. He pretty much tore Follett a new one in the State Championship game last year. If he's coming back he'd probably be the odds-on favorite to be THE top running back.

Hadn't seen any Private school players mentioned, but keep an eye out for Garrett Ping- Plano CHANT- returning Junior- should be a 1,500 yard season or better.
