Too bad

Congrats to the Bulverde Bracken Champions from Division I. I have truly been entertained with some good six-man football games this year. Tapps Div I and II have turned out some great teams and coaches through the years, however, I must argue the debate of a GOOD game. I have seen some really good games that have resulted in a 45+ score. Many students, parents, and fans with pride have suggested two teams that may be a good game "if they played". Granted, I wish the Div I and Div II champions could play for the ultimate game but we will always be left with the question who is the best team even when they may never play.......Right!

I am not from Brenham although I do love the Ice Cream and do believe the Brenham team is the best all around TAPPS six-man football team this year. I think the great game would be Brenham and Garden City.........What do you think.

Again, congrats to both TAPPS Div champions. You both deserve the celebration.

Well I think one thing can be said with certainty in TAPPS football this year....BCS is the BEST!!!
Whether you are from Brenham Christian School or Bracken Christian School...the initials work!!!
Congratulations to BOTH teams for outstanding 14-0 State Championships!!

Too bad Brenham Christian can't go play Bulverde Bracken - now THAT would be a game!

The game I'd rather see is Brenham vs. some of the UIL teams. The 2010 version of that team is probably something close to the El Paso Jesus Chapel teams of the late 90's that could compete on that level. A Bracken/Brenham game would probably be close, but Brenham would still be the favorite in my book (but don't use my expertise to set betting lines, it usually stinks).

Which begs to ask the question ... since it's about 75 miles from Brenham to Calvert, that's a game I would have like to have seen on the schedule. Brenham Christian may rank up with one of the few teams to compete with the top notch UIL teams. Because of its eastern location, Calvert tends to have to accept some pretty weak private school competition (such as Austin Christian Homeschool this year).

Maybe Matt can use that open week from Bryan Allen Academy to schedule Calvert. I know they'd jump at the game.

We will see - I personally didn't realize we could play folks outside Tapps - even in the pre-season.

I love the ice cream too - a little too much! By "good" game I was thinking a real challenging nail biter - I don't know much about Bulverde Bracken, just assumed they must be pretty darn good since they won their Div. 1 state game and we already played the other team (Dallas Covenant).

BCA VS BCA would be a great game outstanding players and coaches. This is the type of game coaches have to coach, make adjustments during half time and as the game progress. Im not taking any chances Im picking along with a lot of other people if this game was played. BCA is my choice.

You can play any high school team (no club teams, but those don't exist in football) under TAPPS rules.

Lifegate you are goin get the El Paso folks riled up comparing Brenham to some of the great teams of the past.

I enjoy living life on the edge ....

Seriously, on a one year basis, this might be one of the best private school 6 man teams. Not sure they have the long-term staying power of a Jesus Chapel, Regents, or Midland Christian in their hayday. But 27-1 over two years ain't too bad a start. Let's see what they have next year; losing 7 or 8 seniors (most all starters) isn't going to be easy for anybody.

But sometimes when you're winners, you're sometimes too dumb to know that you're supposed to lose some games that you end up winning when some of those hosses who brung you to the big dance have gone on to college.
