the cowboys did it!

i didnt think i would see this happen, but the cowboys released terrell owens. its a great day for the cowboys. too bad they wasted 12 million him, but their future looks alot brighter, and the team will be much better off.

so long to mr. negativity, and hello the playoffs...

whats everyone else think?

Guess the big question now is who will replace him. In spite of the me thing/ big mouth he was a great receiver when he didn't drop the ball (remember Keyshawn- just gimme the damn ball?). The "new" Roy Williams, the draft, a trade?

Roy Williams won't have any problem being the #1.

WR: Williams, Crayton, Austin, Hurd
TE: Witten, Bennett

Pretty solid group.

If the Cowboys do anything in free agency or with a trade, it had better be for the secondary.

Why do you think they brought in Roy Williams in the first place? Jerry Jones had be contemplating getting rid of TO for quite sometime time. He was never "great" in Dallas like he was in SF and Philly. Roy had been wanting to play for the Cowboys since he left Austin. Roy will be happy in Dallas and I believe with TO gone, Whitten, Romo, and Williams will help the team focus and help them win in the playoff's.

I don't think the problem is on offense totally. The offense didn't give back to back bone head games to end the season. The defense is the one that let a FULLBACK break a huge touchdown run at the end of the Baltimore game. But Ray Lewis said that the offense was totally predictable also. :? Well the cancer is gone so maybe Garret will no longer be handcuffed!

Either way...now that TO is gone I will support the Cowboys again...that is unless they are playing my World Champion Steelers!! :D

Don't Hate!!!

The Cowboys biggest problem is their secondary. I'm sorry, but they need to focus their draft picks on some halfway decent cb's and some fs' and ss' otherwise they are going to be having the same problems again defense wise.

I agree!!! If the cowboys do not get some true cover corners then any decent QB will pick it apart. There is only so much that Newman can do by himself.

I too agree about the secondary. I thought Williams was brought in to compliment TOE & hopefully take some of the double teaming off him. As a UT fan I was sad to see Williams go to the perennial looser Lions (can you say Bobby Layne?). I looked forward to TOE & RW ligting up some defenses. I'm in no way defending Owens. See today's FOX article by Kevin Hench for that. Now I'm waiting for RW to returnto his UT greatness (that didn't happen immediately after the trade), and, while Crayton, Austin, & Hurd are all good none have blossmed into pro bowlers. Yet.even with a :?: :?: :?: pro bowl qb.

Haven't checked yet, but do the Cowboys have enough cap space to pursue Anquan Boldin? Why in the heck didn't they at least trade Roy Williams (31) for some type of draft pick? Even a 3rd or 4th rounder?

Roy Williams (38, 31 whatever!) hit his peak a few years ago. He has produced absolutely nothing the last 2 seasons, granted he's been on IR but still...he's peaked and no one really wants an aging corner.

i think the cowboys need to improve in a different area, coaching. what has wade phillips done to deserve this job, and what has he done to keep it?

jerry jones is infamous for going through coaches, so what makes him so special?

i think they need singletary!

Atleast with Singletary they would not be one of the most penalized (sp?) team in the NFL...And the defense would have played different.

Of course Wade Phillips needs to be replaced. Yeah, getting rid of TO will help with disipline on the team, but that all starts with the coach. Phillips has said on many occasions that he is not a strong coach with it comes to disipline. He doesn't yell, and he doesn't get upset. But the biggest problem is that he has no control. Does anyone remember when it was 4th and 1, and Wade called for the punt team? Romo sent them all off of the field and called his own play? Yeah they got the 1st down, but Wade did nothing. It's ridiclous. He is the head coach, not Romo. If he was a stronger leader, then yeah, maybe, but not with the way he leads now.

Update on Terrell Owens: He has been offered a job in New York. They need someone to drop the ball New Years, and we all know that he is the best at dropping the ball.

Didn't you here that TO turned down the job because they would only let him have the ball 1 time a year

Now he is going to Buffalo because they figured, with his hot head he could turn it into a tropical paradise by football season. Answer this...Is Buffalo not the most desperate team in professional football?
