Just got my Texas Co-op Power magazine for Sept. 2024 (since my electric provider is a co-op). Their cover article discusses the Texas School for the Deaf and their now six-man football team, which won the TAPPS Six Man State title in 2023. I'm guessing the article was written during and just after the 2023 season and held for August/September 2024 release with the next football season.

Some those opponents for the Texas school for the deaf have good travel budgets. Schools from Indiana, California and Alabama are on their schedule.

It was a great article. They gain self-confidence and pride from playing the game competing against others without their disability. I liked how modern tech helped them. A light in the helmet over the eyes going off when the play is whistled dead greatly reduced their late hits since they can't hear the whistle.
