Texas Association of Independent Athletic Organizations

Several schools that have traditionally played independent schedules have formed an organization for scheduling and post season play starting with the 2013 football season. These are mostly Home School and Charter School teams. The purpose of the organization is to provide a "place" for teams that, for whatever reason cannot, or have decided not to join other leagues such as TAPPS, TCAL, TCAF etc. It is also open to new teams that may form after the deadline for joining other leagues, understanding that may move on to other leagues in the future.

A few points about the association:

* Team sizes will be limited
* Club teams will not be allowed
* Fees are collected to cover tournament costs -- any unused funds are returned to the teams at the end of the year -- NOBODY is making money
* Strict age and grade requirements are imposed on all teams including the homeschool teams. Teams will provide proof of age to the association administrator
* Academic standards are enforced in accordance with No-Pass No-Play
* Scheduling is very flexible the first two years to allow (as much as possible) for teams to honor any tow year scheduling commitments they had previously made.
* The post season for the first year will include the "Iron Man Tournament" as part of the playoff structure
* The association is being run for Varsity and Middle School teams in 2013
* Inducements to transfer from one team (whether an association team or not) are not allowed
* Depending on the results of the first year, the association will in all likelihood expand to other sports starting in 2014

Teams that have currently joined the association are:

Austin NYOS
Romeo Preparatory Academy
Temple Centex
Capital Christian
Victoria Home School
CHANT (Dallas)
BCAL
Parkview Christian

A few others are still considering.

If you have questions please contact Wayne Alldredge (Austin NYOS) at [email protected] ( 512.659.2863 ).

It is my hope that the Six Man Community will support these schools as the endeavor to improve the six man experience for their players!!

WOW another option for home school teams. I am very interested in learning more. I will be contacting you Wayne. Tribe will more than likely be making a move in 2014. It's nice to know we now have another option with teams in our area.

Thank you!
