TCAF Divison II Playoffs

There is still one more week in District play. For the most part playoff spots are set. However, there are two exceptions.

In District i there is a battle of the 2nd place spot. Azle Christian has secured District Champs. 2nd will either go to Weatherford Christian or Mineral Wells Community Christian. The battle will be fought on one field this Friday night. Neither team needs help from others. Their destiny is their own. The Lions from Weatherford will travel the short 18 miles to Miller Stadium in Mineral Wells. It is Homecoming in Mineral Wells and the Warriors are picked to win by 13. Expect a great game!

In District II most of the decisions are made with the exception of Fourth place. With four teams making the playoffs that matters. Arlington High Point controls the pace. Win and the spot is their's, lose and there is confusion. If Wylie, who is picked to win by 13, pulls off the win there will be a three way tie including Arlington High Point, Wylie Prep, and Tyler King's Academy. When doing the math it is most likely that Tyler King's is out either way as their Point spread is 0. Unless Wylie wins by exactly six points. Then I am not sure the method of decision. If Wylie wins by 7 or more then they are in, 5 or less and Arlington High Point is still in. Good luck to all three teams in sorting out this mess. One final possiblity is that Tyler could upset Arlington St. Paul and Wylie wins. Then Tyler is in.
Addition tie could happen if Irving Faustina upset FW Glenview.

Going to be a big week for TCAF Division II

This is a very good synopsis of how Div 2 is playing out. Thank you for the post. God bless all the TCAf D 2 teams and I wish everyone the best of luck going into the playoffs. It is a pleasure working with such great coaches from all of the TCAf schools.

COACH,

TAPPS DOES THE SAME THING. THIS IS PRETTY UNIVERSAL.

I'm not sure how TCAF sets up tie breakers, but TAPPS allows districts to make their own tie-breaker rules.

Point differential is most common; however, there is usually a cap (we used to have 21 points) that you can earn in a game.
For example, if the cap was 21 points and Team A beat Team B by 39, Team C beat Team A by 14; and Team B beat Team C by 6, here's what would happen:

Team A: +21 for beating B (21 max), -14 for losing to C; Net +7
Team B: -21 for losing to A, +6 for beating C; Net -15
Team C: +14 for beating A; -6 for losing to B; Net +8

District ends: Team C, Team A, Team B.

And ANY coach should know what the tie breaker rules are before the season begins.

So with Arlington High Point beating Wylie, they are in the 4th place slot.

This is the first year that Arlington High Point fielded a varsity team. However, their coach, Sean O'Conner, is well acquainted with playoff teams.

My first year coaching in TCAF and I must say, the sportsmanship is second to none! We had our butts handed to us a few times yet all teams played with class and humility. Hope to be back next season and return the favor.....lol
Good luck to district 2!

Irving Faustina at Mineral Wells Community Christian will most likely be played on Saturday at 6 PM.

Come on out for a good game. We play at the Historic Miller Stadium on the west side of Mineral Wells.

We are waiting on confirmation from there AD for day and time.

This is the first varsity squad for Mineral Wells Community Christian School in 10 years. Back in 1994 and 1995 MW CCS was Runner-Up in T-Cal. One of those players is now the coach, Coach Bryan Horton. Back in 1999 the High School was closed. It was re-opened four years ago. Our HS return to football was last year with a JV team. The team went 4 and 4. This year we have really come out of no where. We have been very proud of our young men and really the whole school. The school has more that doubled in size during the last two years. A year ago we would have not dreamed that we would be 2nd in District and hosting a playoff game.

GO WARRIORS!!!

Congratulations Jeff,

Sounds like God is doing some good things at Mineral Wells. Always encouraging to hear how God is moving in other communities. Good luck to you guys this week.

Glenview will host Joshua Christian: Friday Night 7:30pm.

Tells you how old I am because I coached Coach Horton the very first time he ever played and MW first year ever to play football.... LOL! BTW, Bryan broke his arm against a puny little shool called FW All Saints. Who was the genius that scheduled that game. Highlight of that years was we travelled to Gordon and played their JV. We actually won. It was 30 degrees outside and I didn't take a change of clothes. That ice water bath was really bad. Love ya - Bryan.

Puny? It was the only JV squad I've ever seen with full beards. The coach tolds us the All Saints hospital was the closest one, but I made my parents drive past it to the next one. They could have my season, but not my money. Good luck, Coach
