Strawn/Mullin

Went to the restroom last Friday night with under a minute left in the half. When the 2nd half started Mullins best player, # 44 was on the sideline & stayed there the rest of the game. Had seen him limp a little after a play earlier in the game but he scored a long TD after that. I know he was playing quite agressively, had a horsecollar penalty. Overheard a lady a couple of rows up behind us say he was ejected. Can somebody fill me in?
Thanks again to all those who cooked the fish at the pre-game tailgate, best I've had in ages.
Tater salad was excellent too (Dehli (sp) ?).

From what little I've seen of Mullin, if you take #44 out you have removed 50% of their offense. The other 50% being #24. Plus when I saw them they were only suiting out 8.

On this given night #44 was about 75% of their offense & defense. 24 didn't provide much at all. Strawn played a heck of a game beings as three of their starters were on the sidelines nursin injuries. Strawn played alot of younger guys and they performed above expectations.

He was ejected for unsportsmanlike conduct (took his helmet off a couple times while at in action).

So the coach and refs made sure he was Mullin' over his indiscretions......

Well the refs were... The coaches were as indignant as the offending player as were the fans. Coaches actually threatened to forfeit at half due to the unmerciless rulings by the obviously Strawn biased refs.
(I kinda wished they would have, it woulda made the outcome more entertaining....)

Well I guess the ref's felt like he'd used up his mulligan with the horse collar tackle and they had to do something. Also, we had to have a halftime so people other than just the families of the participants would stick around for the homecoming ceremonies.
