Sterling City possibly coming back to so man in 2026?

If I am remembering correctly, Sterling City's first couple of years in sixman was as a D II school. They played Borden County in the D II state game in 2009.

According to SanAngeloLive, SC is playing a JH six man schedule, most likely because of low participation numbers but could this lead to them making a return?
If you use the numbers in their TAPR for 2022-2023 all 3 of the alternative methods gives an enrollment under 104.9 in 2025-2026 school year.
8-11, 7-10, or 9&10 doubled

not sure if that helps them since they are 11man.. I *think* the formula is only used to STAY 6man.. could be wrong tho <Shrug>

yes that rule only applies to school "currently" playing 1a football.. so SC will have actually have to enrollment under the 104.9 without formulas to go back down -- If Im reading that rule correctly

Okay you are right and since because Whiteface was playing six man and one of the three alternate formulas gave a number under 104.9

I wouldn't be too sure about them having low enough numbers to return to 6 man anytime soon. According to the TPEA reports for 2022-23, their enrollment for grades 8-11 was 118, which would have been their enrollment for 9-12 for 23-24 (not including any transfers, etc). But then their enrollment was 136, which means they had 18 more students move in than moved/dropped out. With the current numbers, the next reallignment in 25-26, they would still have 112.
