Six-man fan
I hope you will allow me (with Mike's permission) a moment to drop a word of advertisement about a book my daughter has written which has sixman football as part of its storyline.
My daughter, Katie, has aspired to be an author and publish a book for most of her life. She always thought it would be a fantasy novel about fairies and elves and dragons. However, the Lord had other plans. A few years ago when my son, Eli, was playing for the Tyler HEAT, she was in the stands watching. As she watched the interactions of the boys on the sidelines and the families during and after the game, she heard the Lord tell her, "That is what your book is about. High school friendships and sixman football." (You can hear this story in her own words on her Instagram page, “cozylifeofkatie.”)
With that inspiration in her heart and mind, she set out to write a book about just that. Her finished work is entitled "Boys of Fall" and is available on Amazon. (Boys of Fall) It is about a kid that has to move in his sophomore year of high school with his dad to a small west Texas town after his parents divorced. He was a soccer player in Houston, but his only option in this town is, of course, sixman football. The story goes from there.
I am proud of my daughter, obviously, but also, there are not many books with sixman football as part of the storyline. I share because I thought this might be an enjoyable read for some in the six-man community.
Please know, the book is intended for older teenagers – 14-17 years – and it’s good for both guys and girls, because it is not all about football.
Thanks for indulging a proud father.
