Im an outsider, but follower of the Texas football scene...can someone explain the See you at the Pole?

See you at the pole is a time that students come together by the school flag pole for a time of prayer. This happens before school and is student led.

Usually it’s a once per year event that most schools happen to do on the same day. Not sure when it began

See You at the Pole

See You at the Pole is an annual gathering of thousands of Christian students at school flag poles, churches, and the Internet for the purposes of worship and prayer. The event began in 1990 in Burleson, Texas, when a group of teenagers gathered to pray for several schools. It is now an international event; in 2005, over two million students in the U.S. participated, as well as students in Canada, Cote d'Ivoire, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ecuador, Ghana, Guam, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Kenya, South Korea, Malaysia, Nigeria, Norway, Peru, Portugal, Scotland, Singapore and South Africa.

I went to a Catholic Elementary & HS in the Chicagoland area and I dont think we ever did this.
