It’s a score that would make high school basketball fans suffer a double-take, let alone football fans. 108-96. Yet there’s a catch: This isn’t traditional football, it’s the Wild West of Texas 6-man football, and it set a record for most points in a recognized six-man game.

As noted by MaxPreps, Santa Anna star Jed Herrod took over a game in an almost unique way, scoring an astounding 11 touchdowns to single-handedly account for 66 of his team’s 108 points in a narrow victory against Mullin. Ten of Herrod’s scores came on the ground, with the traditional back scrambling in open space and making it all but impossible to bring him down. The moves might not have been successful against a more stacked defense, but against six defenders, they were powerfully successful. The other touchdown? That came on a fumble recovery where, again, Herrod was impossible to bring down.

The combined 204 points set a new record for recognized 6-man football games, breaking a record just two weeks old that was set in a game between Midland Trinity and Loraine. Just as Midland Trinity had, Santa Anna’s 108 points move to second on the all-time list by a single team, but the 96 scored by Mullin far outstretched the 66 by Loraine earlier this season.

The good news for Santa Anna is that the team may have some defense, too, as it proved in a season opening victory against Whitharral. Santa Anna took that contest 61-14, with the far more impressive stat being the 14 points allowed, not the 61 scored.

Of course, not much can compete with the 11 scoring plays that Herrod scored all on his own.

It amazes me how I can get everyone's' panties in a bunch over a game, video, comment.......I FEEL EMPOWERED!!!!! Maybe I should run for office, or maybe post a few more old AQUILLA videos, that should do it,,, or maybe some LEVERETTS CHAPEL videos..... whatever stirs the pot......

You say that we have our "panties in a wad," however you are one screaming (using all caps) and calling names.

I didn't pick anyone, nor claimed to be an expert.

I don't normally involve myself in this type of banter, but in this case I will play your game.

Just out of curiosity, did you post that many times so that you could get your post count up? Some people do that around here.

I'm not "Playing any game", and if all caps irritates you, then CALM DOWN!!!!!!!!!!!!, I doubt that you could ever "call me out", but go ahead and try, I'm not mad about "passing an article on", Calling someone "OUT", THAT SOUNDS REALLY GHETTO. LIBERALS ARE ALL INTO PUNCTUATION AND CAPS, GO CHECK YOUR E-MAIL, YOU JUST GOT A BERNIE SANDERS CONGRATS FOR YOUR DONATION, and for someone who doesn't involve themselves in this banter, you are doing a great job for a novice!
 
a few things here:

1. no where in the original post did you cite it as being from USA Today.
2. Yes Granger did send corrections to them when the article came out a while back...so yes someone did "B*itch at them"

3. 12 rushing TDs in a singe game is the record, Tony Diaz of Paint Rock against Novice in 2010...final score of the game was 112-109 Paint Rock won
(and that combine total is 221 and I dont think that's the record either)

any way...this USA Today error has been discussed before and people have tried to correct it

with that said...still a high scoring game and great performance by the guy with 11 TDs!
 
You know something kittykatboy11, the only one not calm in this one is you. I'm surprised your arm has not broken from trying to pat yourself on the back.

I am not irritated, nor am I not calm. Getting "called out" is a modern term. saying that it sounds "ghetto" is your opinion. This is not going to go well for you. You have showed up to gun fight and you forgot your weapon. Just because I do not normally involve myself does not mean that I am not capable.

I enjoy that you think that having an education and using correct punctuation makes me less of a person, or even a liberal. I do not understand how anyone could draw that conclusion. Next you will be claiming that I am a member of ISIL. Its not your fault that you do not take pride in your education, of course if I had your education I wouldn't be proud of it either, it is is your schools fault for failing you. God forbid anyone take control of their own education.

Just so you know, because I am certain that you don't, they do not send E-mails when you contribute to a campaign. They mail you a letter that has a printed signature.

Please continue this, I like to watch how you self-destruct and do not even realize it.

If you are feeling like everyone is ganging up on you, they are not. They are on the right side and you are on..... well.... the other.
