Reporting Your Scores!

Six-man pro
Tomorrow starts a new and exciting season of Texas high school football.

We have hundreds of young men in our private schools who have worked hard throughout the summer and during this month of training camps to compete in the greatest of sports -- Texas high school football -- and six-man football at our private schools and home school organizations.

But every week, it seems Granger, Cowboy or I need to chase down six or eight scores, often from our private schools. Sometimes, it takes phone calls to school offices and school secretaries (who often DO know the score from the Friday game) on Monday or Tuesday morning.

Sadly, in my book, that's dishonoring the young men that are representing your school. They work hard and nobody really cares enough to spend ten or twenty seconds to text or post an ACCURATE final score. It's not like mobile technology is hard to find. I'd bet if I walked into the smallest-attended six-man private school game Friday or Saturday and took every mobile communication device there, I'd walk out with several dozen at a minimum.

Okay, many of the leagues have required score reporting systems. TAPPS has TAPPSter, T-CAL and some of the other leagues use the Rivals system. The Associated Press has their email: [email protected]. Please use them.

Granger also has a score reporting system -- there are online ways at this site or his email: sixmanguru -at- gmail -dot- com. You can probably do all of these reports with one or two texts at the most.

If you haven't loaded your schedule on this site, you can still do so. Just go to the Schedule tab on the Home page and walk through it.

I won't be doing the Mercy Rule updates this year (a new job and a kid at a school, both in another town, cuts down my time for doing this -- which duplicated a lot of what Granger already has on this site) and I probably won't be doing a weekly private school schedule. Again, check the main schedule on this site.

Good luck to all -- everyone's unbeaten tonight, and we start each game at 0-0!
