Regional track meet records

Did any other region other than region 1 use the old 1A (now 2A) records at their regional meet? I asked the UIL rep about it and he told me they were using the old records because the were 1a then and we ran with them. (He also said our division 2 records were "atrocious"). I asked what they did with the D2 records and he said the were kept on file. I feel we should be able to keep our D2 records from the previous years. 2A can have the old 1A records. 6A gets to start over with their own records according to him.

Yes, they were supposed to but levelland didn't. They told me they put them away in a file. It's my understanding uil only cares about state records and leaves regional records to the regional site.

Tech......You are correct. The UIL does not maintain or concern itself with Regional records. That is totally up to the school or entity that is hosting the Regional Meet.

Then I believe we need to bring that up with spc. Quite a few records were broken at our meet and they should stand as 1A records. Anybody else agree?

Thats kind of a tough situation. What about a kid that still belongs to 1A? Do you move there record up to 2A, even though they competed for a school that was 1A then, and still 1A now.

Yes I think so, especially they had to compete against the bigger schools to do it. I would think it would look more impressive to have a 2a record than a 1a. There are quite a few examples of this in region 1. A girl from my school holds one. I'm ok with her having a 2A record if she had to compete against that size school to do it.
