SA Town East vs. Ft. Worth Glenview
Dallas Covenant vs. Fredericksburg Heritage

WINNERS

Glenview by 40
Covenant by 6

Do I think Covenant can beat Freddy? Yes, but only if they do everything right....which may not happen, but I'll take a Glenview v. Covenant rematch for the State title anyway.

Fredricksburg by 12

Town East by 2 in a major upset......not likely but don't count this feisty group out. They have some young inexperienced players that are getting much better every week.

I respectively have to say, HUH????

Towneast beat Glenview?? I've seen both teams play in person and on film. Maybe you've been misguided by your loyalty to Towneast but my friend, Glenview could lose two to three of their starters and still 45 Towneast this year.

Nothing against Towneast because I like their program, however, it's like comparing Richland Springs to Glenview, Richland Springs wins everytime no matter what the scenario. That's the way it will be with this game.

Oh, I agree with your assesment of Freddy versus Covenant.

I'm out>>>>> :P :P :P

I love my brothers and friends at Town East, but if they win this one, well, even ol' David would be impressed even after he slayed Goliath ...

My heart's with Town East. My wallet is with Glenview.

And as for the other game, my wallet is staying shut. Heritage is much stronger this year than I anticipated them being, even counting in their poor coaching and shoddy work ethic (just kidding) ... Covenant won this last year and they've done well. Of the four TAPPS semi-final games, this would be the one to go to if you want to see 40 minutes of football.

But whadda I know.

I'll say Fredericksburg by 25+. Covenant is overrated and should have never made it past them last year. Plus, Fredericksburg didn't lose anybody of significance from their team of a year ago. I'm looking forward to seeing the fresh matchup of Fredericksburg and Glenview in the final.

p.s. Glenview by 45 this round

Gleniview will 45 Christway, there really is not any evidence that proves otherwise. Gleview is faster thana group of lions on a hunt.

I am picking Freddy over Covenant by about 40, and I maybe think it will be a 45. Covenant got really lucky against Christway. The game was much closer than the score.

^I wasn't aware Glenview was playing Christway.

You know, I'd just like to point out that in another thread in this forum, everyone was predicting how close the Christway/Covenant game would be, or that Christway would even upset. And then Covenant 45'd them. And now everyone's saying that Freddy is going to 45 them.

Oh yes, and then after all that, they get called "overrated". :P

The way I see it, Covenant beat Freddy last year when everyone was saying the SAME THING. I know everyone is also saying Freddy "hasn't lost anyone" since last year, but look at Covenant. They only lost one senior, the rest of their team that made it to State last year were Juniors and below.

I'm not saying it's clear-cut that Covenant should win, I'm just saying they shouldn't be so quick to be ruled out.

Obviously i was way off about how close christway was to covenant, but i dont see any way you can say either of these teams will 45 the other one. I think both teams have the potential to win this game its just gonna come down to who wants it more.

The Christway/Covenant score was affected by the rain, but I can't say that Covenant would not have 45'd Christway on a dry field. The Knights played well and scored on every one of their possesions. Christway's passing and running game were affected by the rain much more than Covenant's. Pretty obvious, huh?

Who will win Saturday? I see a really tight game. Forecast is for cloudy skies but not for rain and the field should be dry. I see this favoring Fredricksburg and pick them to win by 16. The revenge factor for Freddy has to be counted in. If it rains, then I'll flip and pick Covenant by 24. Either way, this is going to be a good game to watch.

ACL/MCL, were you at the Covenant/Christway game? I don't see how you can say it was closer than the score indicates when Covenant was not stopped on any of their possesions and only missed one extra point kick all night. My son plays for Christway and I have been accused of wearing rose colored glasses, but that score of 68-19 told the story pretty accurately as I see it.

Covenant is a very impressive team.

I did in fact pick Happy Hill to beat Greenville. That was when I thought that maybe Happy Hill and Abilene were contenders. That being said I still stand by my predictions.

Regarding last year, it might be noted that Town East beat Fredricksburg in the regular season, but this year they stomped Town East. Talking with their running back after that game [in reference to how much better they looked from a year ago] he told me that not only did they not lose any starters from a year ago, but they also had a couple of key guys injured last year that really impacted last years team.

Freddy by 12 {at least}
