Well, probably not a lot of interest in NCAA D-3, but a couple six-man connections.
Mount Union beat Wheaton (Ill.) 45-24 in a semifinal. Frederickburg Heritage's four-time all stater, Robert Ramsey plays TE for Wheaton (didn't see any stats for him on their website).
Wisconsin-Whitewater, the reigning D-3 champion, beat Mary Hardin Baylor in Belton 39-13. Now I wish I had headed up to Temple ... I coulda watched the Warhawks and then taken in the private six man all star game.
The connection there? Well, it's my alma mater (1978). Close enough for me.
Mount Union and Whitewater meet for the D-3 title next weekend. It's the fourth consecutive rematch between these two teams ... MU won in 05 and 06 and the Warhawks won in 07. MU has been in the title game 12 times (including 2008) since 1993 and has a 9-2 record in the finals.
