If that previous school checked that little box that says moved for athletic purposes, it’s an automatic DEC meeting. They will have to vote on it. The coach who checked that box will be asked to submit a written statement and then be a part of the DEC meeting. It is the family who has to prove they did not move for athletic purposes. The only time I have seen it get reversed was when the coach who checked the box openly said at the DEC meeting he no longer felt the family moved for athletic purposes.


If the DEC votes and says he/she can play, then he/she can play. If they vote no, you’re basically a dead duck. I haven’t seen the UIL go against the DEC vote. Doesn’t mean it hasn’t happened. Just rare.
