There will be plenty of new faces in old places when the 2007 high school football season dawns on the Lone Star State. As of April 1, no less than 13 Texas six-man schools have announced they will have new head coaches on the sideline beginning in August.
Among the biggest changes will be at Meadow High School where Cody Carroll stepped down as the head coach of the Broncos to assume the superintendent role. Longtime assistant Kent Allison was promoted to the head coach/Athletic Director duties in March.
With Allison ascension to the top spot at Meadow, the school has announced it will be accepting applications for an assistant's position. Coaches interested in applying for spot can contact Allison at [email protected] or by contacting the school at (806) 539-2222.
The assistant would be the junior varsity boys basketball and head track coach.
Meadow is located approximately 15 miles south of Lubbock.
Another major shift occurred in March when Billy Hutchinson announced he was stepping away from the head coaching duties at Paducah.
No replacement has been named as of yet.

The third major opening in Texas is at Whitharral High School. A longtime six-man superpower, the Panthers got into the coaching search late last month when Coy Paris announced he was leaving after just one season. Paris led the team to the Division II semifinals last season.
Expected to be one of the most-prized positions on the market this season, interested coaches can send their applications for the position to Ed Sharp. Sharp can be reached at P.O. Box 225, Whitharral, TX, 79380.
Like Paducah and Whitharral, Lueders-Avoca High School is also in the market for a head coach. Raiders' head coach Josh Dormier announced he was leaving in March, leaving the Division II program with an opening.
Coaches interested in the Raiders' position can contact L-AISD Superintendent Tony Reed via e-mail at email: [email protected] or by calling (325) 228-2411.
Dormier led the Raiders to a 4-6 record a year ago as a junior varsity program.
Klondike High School is also in the market for a head coach. The Division II school located about 12 miles south of Lamesa in West Texas is a one-time football powerhouse. The Cougars' new boss can make $5,700 above the base salary base as well as have housing.

Sands will pay $3000 above base coaching stipend dependent on number of sports.
