Longhorn Network

Six-man pro
With all the talk of the Longhorn Network and its effect on college football (perhaps responsible for the future breakup of the Big 12), I read somewhere the other day that ESPN and UT have been unable to get a single cable or satellite provider to carry the network ... the article (I think it was in the paper late last week) said that the promoters of the network aren't concerned as these decisions are often made at the last minute, but I think the Network starts broadcasting this weekend. ...

Anybody hear anything about this ...

They are having a hard time finding carriers, kinda similar issues with the NFL Network. I believe there is a Houston-based company, Entouch, that is the Longhorn Network's only official carrier as of now.

If a company doesn't pick it up by the Sept. 3 Rice game and UT isn't able to contract a second (Big 12) game, look for the channel to be passed on by all major carriers for an entire year
