Kickoff classic Byan Allen

Would have liked to see Baytown Christian stay close to home in the Emery Kickoff Classic with a public school team or team like SMHC. That would have a been a good matchup for the preseason #1 in DII vs. the defending DIII champs. Not taking anything away from Conroe Lifestyle, but they're a second year program. Looking at their schedule not sure how many challenges Baytown Christian will have on their non-district slate. But, that's why you play the games. I know they had teams like Veritas and Alpha Omega originally scheduled in the spring but that changed.

Trust me I would have liked to stayed close to home as well. We had 8 seniors graduate and only had 5 kids for spring ball. There were talks from several of us thinking we may not even field a team this year. I had to do what was right to protect this program and at the time playing schools like Veritas (175 students) not the best choice... especially with this being my first year as head coach. Not all of us have the luxury of having 250 plus kids to choose from.
I can say one thing if you have an issue with me or the way I am running this program feel free to give me a call. I don't think getting on this board and basically calling me a coward is the way to do it.
Our boys have bought into this program and we may not be ready right now but I can guarantee come playoffs you will see a disciple, well coached team that plays with self respect and integrity and won't be scared to put a helmet in your chest.
Good luck on the rest of your season

Whether it was against SMHC or any other school I would like to have Baytown Christian in the Emery Kickoff Classic. BCA is a Houston area team, have been the champs in their district several seasons running, and they have some really talented athletes each year. Schools schedule different games for different reasons, and operate their programs for what's best for their kids. Congrats on your first win as head coach and good luck the rest of the season.

Hats off to Coach Jolly at Allen Academy. We enjoyed hearing the Dagerath brothers in the booth, stadium looked great. Burgers were good. Can't wait until your team is back in the mix. Our fans had a great time and it was nice to see all the Alpha alums from A&M give us a nice home field advantage.

I couldn't agree with you more. Stand up guy and awesome program. Look forward to them getting up and running next year. You hit the nail on the head with them burgers! They were a hit on the bus ride home. Thanks again coach Jolly.

Thanks to everyone who attended!

We hope to be back in the mix next year, even if we are very young.

Wishing everyone a wonderful rest of the season!
