Jonesboro star to play at the next level

Congrats! (but pretty sure there have been a few Jonesboro players to play college football some great players in the 1950s-1970s era and willing to bet a few of them played college ball)...Larry Pruitt maybe..?

OK Garrett2810 I got if figured out...

Larry Pruitt did go to Turnesville, but the school closed after the 1966-67 school year and Pruitt went to Jonesboro for his senior year which was the 1967-68 school year and playing on the East 6-man All-Star Football team for Jonesboro, East won 42-30, James Nichols also played in the game for Jonesboro. On the West team was one Jack Shely from Marathon and one Rickey Perry from Paint Creek.

Ok and didn't Jack Shely coach with Pruitt for a little bit in Jonesboro? I remember his wife was one of our English teachers in Oglesby.

Yes they coached together in Jonesboro in the early 2000s.
And I think the article was more about Lord being the first player from Jonesboro to receive a football scholarship not just play in college.
