Do coaches ever have a long talk with their kids about getting in trouble ? Coaches need to tell kids, maybe every week if necessary, about consequences of their actions. Drinking , drugs , guns, and stealing are what gets them in trouble the most. Maybe the coaches will have a better impact than some of these parents. My coach in high school had a dump truck of 1 inch rock delivered to school . If we got in trouble the pile would be moved 20 feet. It was never moved when i was there. We wanted to play and never caused any problems. Kids need to visually see what their bad decisions and consequences will do to them. Lose one good player makes a big impact, or forfeit a game because players suspended. I think these problems can be stopped before they happen with a little visual-mental encouragement.
