1967 the impossible dream Red Sox-I remember the W.S. was played during the day,I would take my 9volt transsister radio to school and run the ear plug under my long sleve shirt and listen to the games, sometimes i was sick  Last person to win the Triple Crown

I remember that when I was in Catholic grade school (mid to late 60s), the schools added TV screens to watch programs on educational TV. The nuns thought the shows were way below our ability, so we never watched them.

But they did let us watch two things on TV ... launches from Cape Kennedy and if we were good, the World Series.

I remeber the movies...mainly because they came on late night TV in the '80s. Wow I didn't realize that there was color ads way back then!

Sign outside a store in Grapevine in 1970: 35 cents a pack, 3 for $1.00. Marlboro's didn't sell well when 1st marketed in the 60's as a women's cigarette. The marlboro man changed all that. Till he got lung cancer & sued them for giving him free cigarettes. Their lawyer's kept the case in court till he died.
