Great Hearts Monte Vista Head Coach Opening

Great Hearts Academies, a non-profit charter organization, is opening its first K-9 school in San Antonio's Monte Vista neighborhood in the fall of 2014. Monte Vista Preparatory Academy is taking applications for a head football coach to found its first 6-man football program. Applicants should have at least 3 years of coaching or collegiate playing experience and show a deep interest in forming a program in line with the school's vision for rigorous academic excellence. Specific Responsibilities Include:
-Working closely with the Athletic Director to establish a vision for the Monte Vista Prep football program
-Aiding in the hiring of assistant coaches
-Developing a Six Man football program from the ground up, potentially including:
-An elementary football summer camp program that teaches fundamentals and builds interest in the program
-A middle school program that develops basic strength and fundamentals of football
-A summer conditioning program for the high school team
-A high school program that regularly fields competitive teams while maintaining the high academic and moral standards established by the academy

Desired knowledge, skills & abilities:
-Aligns with the Athletic Department’s vision for athletics
-Three or more years as a football coach and/or collegiate football athlete
-Experienced and comfortable interacting in a professional manner with parents and students
