Giddings State School needs games 2013 season

It has been a while since I have been on here. My name is Gordon Cyr, and I used to coach at South Shaver Baptist and Clear Lake Christian School in Houston. I'm currently working at the Giddings State School in Giddings as a Recreation Program Specialist 3. They will be playing in TAPPS, not sure what district and details like that, but I was told by their Athletic Director, Sandy Brown they will be playing an independent schedule. From what I've been told, they have two to four games so far for the season, so they need some games. The games will be home for you, because the team has to travel for every game. It will be their first year to play sixman, so this is all very new to them. I will be teaching them rules and such, so they have a fighting chance, but I'm not sure if I'll be able to help them coach. That is yet to be determined. They do have some restrictions on how far they can travel, but I'm not sure exactly how far. I think it may be around 100 miles or a little further. They travel to Austin, Bryan, and could go to Bellville, Brenham, and maybe some Houston area schools.

Please contact Sandy Brown at 1-979-542-4500 if you'd be interested in trying to schedule a game. They've been playing in TAPPS for many years in 11-man football, basketball, and track, but this will be their first year ever in sixman as I mentioned above.

Thanks,

Gordon Cyr

Gordon ...

I expect you'll find Giddings in the six-man districts for 2014-2016; part of the problem is we have larger districts in the southern part of the state and smaller districts in the north/west part of the state.

I also expect that Giddings will be able to find several more games as the summer progresses. We may lose a team or two in the summer and that will open up some dates for the Giddings team.
