Maybe this has been brought up before? But from what I can tell RS has only been 45'd once in the last 16 years! Maybe one of the coyote fans can tell us if this is correct? If it is that might be a record in itself considering the number of games they have played because of so many post season appearances. Pretty impressive, Coyotes!

You are correct. Almost mercy ruled by Lyle Campbell and his Gordon Longhorns in the 1999 semi-finals. Coach Campbell called off the dogs pretty early in the fourth. Strawn did it in 2009.

wow! That's pretty crazy considering that's probably in the neighbourhood of 200 games give or take.

Well BE, even a Hounds fan has to concede that only happened because Coach Burkhart's son Haustin, the SB went down with an injury, something none of us (hopefully) would have wished on anyone (I like to think we would have won anyway). So as internet friends let's don't mention the state game that year.

Looks like it to me. There was some discussion at the time on here about it being a "dirty" hit. Not by anyone form RS that I can remember, a commenter from another town. I didn't see that at the time and still don't here. BTW Coach, I've been going to e-mail him but tell Shane & Co. to Keep on Rockin! I'll be listening tonight. Go Cards!

That was the game. Hauston was hit by JT Sharp, he was the rusher assigned to him. JT had "pushed" him to the sideline and when Hauston planted his foot to cut back it looked like he hurt it at that time. I could see him jerk his foot up and that is when JT caught him. I believe Hauston going out of the game was a big part of the reason the game ended on the mercy rule. The young man that replace him was a sophomore, I think. He did well for being "thrown to the wolves". I was thinking wow he's going to be a great SB in the years to come.

Hey Terry, long time no hear from. You moved to Oklahoma? (Cliff too?). I Think the replacement was Denim Reeves? They won State twice with him (?) (MVP?).

I don't think getting 45'd ONCE will make the record books, yes it's impressive, but that one changes everything.
Now, if we can figure out how many games in a row that they have played without getting 45'd, that is a record with some teeth.

Once in the last 16 years is pretty impressive any way you slice it. Lol. I would beat no other team comes close to that.

If you want to add to the records, in the last 16 years RS has at least 10 wins in 14 of those years. 6 of those years are undefeated seasons.

Let's try this a different way.

My truck gets over 1200 miles on a single tank of gas, and I only have to stop to refill it once to do that.

I can drive a golf ball 600 yards and it only has to be re-hit once.

Once again, yes, it's impressive, but once again, not a record. I bet their streak of games having only been 45d 10 times is even longer!!! Let's use that instead. Or 20.

Yes, work moved me. I'm in Elk City. Not to far from the mother land. Cliff is in Higgins Texas, he is the agricultural teacher for the high school.

I remember Denim now.

Great to hear about Cliff. I guess your influence, that of the coaches and teachers, in particular Mr. Miller did some good. Saw Jonathon Lindsey earlier this year, he's using his degree working at different ranches around North central Texas. Melissa got married today. Proud but kinda tuff giving her away. Heather Nowak and Nancy Juarez were bridesmaids. Shan Nowak was there.

Well Mr. Klein, maybe you will share with us. Just what is the record?
It's Kline, I put it right there, so no reason to spell it wrong unless you are doing it just to get under my skin.

I don't know what the record is. What I'm saying is........

consecutive games without getting 45'd is a record, whomevers record it might be.
# of games with getting 45'd once is not.

Consecutive wins - a record
Consecutive wins with only one loss, not a record.

If you set out to eat an apple for 1000 consecutive days, and on day 883 you eat a banana instead of an apple, you did not eat an apple for 1000 consecutive days.

ONCE AGAIN, the TIDBIT of information of only getting 45'd ONCE in 16 years is rather impressive. Still doesn't make it a record.
