Honorable Mentions:
Vance Miller – Plano CHANT – 28-37 for 352 yards, 8 TDs passing; 1 blocked punt, 3 sacks, 2 forfed fumbles, 1 fumble recovery for a TD.

In a tight ball game, every little thing counts and Miller did the little things and some big things as CHANT edged out Ovilla Christian, 66-53. Sure his passing stats stand out, but look at what an X factor he was on defense. Two of his three sacks were with Ovilla facing a 1st and goal, which backed them up to 4th and goal from the 34. The blocked punt and forced fumbles, with a defensive touchdown as well are all huge plays in a tight game.

Hutton Lusty – Richland Springs – 3 carries for 141 yards and 2 TDs rushing; 9 tackles on defense
Richland Springs dominated the DI Sterling City Eagles and one reason is because they have a kid named Hutton Lusty. With just three carries, he rushed for 141 and two touchdowns…that’s 47 yards a carry folks! He was also the Coyotes leading tackler on defense with six solo tackles and three assists. His lead blocking also enabled fellow back Walker Tippie to go over the 100-yard rushing mark as well.
