District 1:

Hedley over Plainview Christian 52-8
Anton over Lubbock Kingdom Prep Academy 52-34
Jesus Chapel over Immanuel Christian 54-20

District 2:

Wichita Christian over Lubbock Christ the King 54-32
Gordon over Brownwood Victory Life Academy 52-6
North Central Texas Academy (Happy Hill) over Harrold 54-16 ----- WF Notre Dame beat Harrold 62-8 by halftime last Friday. This should give us some indication on how Notre Dame and NCTA will match up next week.
WF Notre Dame over Vernon Northside 62-24 ----- Two undefeated teams slug it out in WF!

We get our first district 1 vs district 2 match of the season with Wichita Christian traveling to Lubbock to face Christ the King.

RESULTS:

District 1:

Hedley over Plainview Christian 52-8
Plainview Christian beat Hedley 40-38 --- Way to prove me wrong Plainview Christian!

Anton over Lubbock Kingdom Prep Academy 52-34
Anton beat Lubbock KPA 52-6

Jesus Chapel over Immanuel Christian 54-20
Jesus Chapel beat Immanuel Christian 83-79 --- Quite the high scoring game.

District 2:

Wichita Christian over Lubbock Christ the King 54-32
Wichita Christian beat Lubbock CTK 50-44 --- Freshman Aaron Baker caught a 5 yd pass from senior QB Brent Holsberry with 2 seconds on the clock and weaved through the Trojan defense to get the win. Earlier, junior Ryan Ivy caught a 23 yd pass on 3rd down to keep the drive alive. It was a COLD day in Lubbock and both teams had a hard time holding on to the ball in the 1st quarter.

Gordon over Brownwood Victory Life Academy 52-6
Gordon beat Brownwood VLA 62-6

North Central Texas Academy (Happy Hill) over Harrold 54-16
NCTA beat Harrold 63-44 --- I think the NCTA vs ND game this week is going to be very one sided.

WF Notre Dame over Vernon Northside 62-24
WF Notre Dame beat Vernon Northside 44-34 --- I didn't see the game, but Northside's defense must have been pretty good to hold ND to only 44 points.

The Northside Notre Dame game ended prematurely with 5 minutes left in the half. It was on pace for a at least one team to break a hundred.

I heard something about that the day after. Was Northside down to 5 players or what?

While they still had enough players, 2 of their main players had been hurt that game. The second was pretty dramatic/tragic. The QB was taken on an ambulance and we were all worried since he didn't move for a while after a neck injury. Their players and coaches were concerned and decided to call the game.

I hope I heard correct news that their QB only had a concussion and stinger - still bad but will be OK. May not be able to play again, which is a shame since he's only a sophomore and was a very good player, but there's more important things...

I pray for a quick and full recovery for the young man. Respect to the coaching staff for making a tough, but wise decision. I hope that Northside can continue with the great season they are having.

Concerning the Northside Notre Dame game, no they were not down to 5 players. Another player was hurt early in the game. I think there was valid concern for the other injured player. Since this was not a district game, I think they just to decided to cut their losses. I may be wrong about the why, but that's they way it seemed at the time.
