D2 Top 10 Strenghts & Weakness

What is opinion on the each of the following D2 teams best strengths and worst weaknesses as they make their push to a State Title run?

1. Richland Springs
2. Calvert
3. Balmorhea
4. Milford
5. Crowell
6. Valley
7. Strawn
8. Amherst
9. Jayton
10. Sands

I'll comment on the first 4;
Richland Springs: strength- Defense, coaching, tradition, athletes. Weakness- depth if anything. I tend to hold my breath when there are only 3 on the sidelines.
Calvert: strengths- athletes especially on the offensive side. Weakness- again depth and some defensive lapses
Balmorhea: strength- coaching. Weakness: lack of experience compared to others they will be facing
Milford: same as Calvert

Another Strength of Milford would be special teams. Milford probably has the best kicker in 6 man. They also so have quite a few special teams touchdowns this year in the return game.

Is this list in any particular order?? My Cats at #5?? Strengths are big game experience. The Seniors have played a 15 week season every year since they were freshmen! Best passing game in either division! Weaknesses are run game and depth isn't what its been in the last couple years.

#playsomebody??? Milford started the season with defending state champs of Abbott (wk 1), Jonesboro (wk 2), and beat GC in a throwdown in Santa Anna. Explain to me how that equates to not "playing somebody?"

Teams are listed according to the current rankings.

It does not matter one hill of beans who you play or how "tough" of a regular season schedule you play!
Bottom line...... IT DOES NOT MATTER!

I think the strength of schedule does play a small part in preparation for the playoffs. If you play cake teams all season, and draw a "top" team in the playoffs, then, in some cases (not all), the kids will have a major adjustment to make in order to catch up with the speed, ability, and physicality of the game. If you schedule a couple of tough opponents on the way, then the kids will know what to expect in big-game situations. Just my personal opinion.

Easy CoachA. There are a couple more teams above my Cats than just Milford. Looks like they have mixed it up with a couple solid programs. Good for them!!

The "why test" on the main page says a lot about a teams schedule......

There have been many teams in the past that have played "cupcake" regular season schedules and have went on the win it all.

...which is the reason i said "not all." I'm aware that there are teams out there that are going to be good regardless of who they play due to coaching, raw ability, athleticism, experience, etc. However, those teams are not part of the majority.
