America's "virtural" high school football powerhouse, Eastern Christian Academy from Elkton, MD (sort of) will be journeying down to Texas for two (maybe three) games against some 6A Texas powerhouses. ECA will play Euless Trinity in Week 1 and Coppell in Week 3 and is in talks to add Allen or DeSoto for Week 2. Eastern Christian is the "virtual online academy" that has sent many players to FBS schools in their three years of existence.
Eastern Christian was featured in a 2012 Sports Illustrated article (http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2012/magazine/08/22/high-school-football-virtual-powerhouse/) and another recent article from this January (http://nationalhsfootball.com/2014/...ving-after-multiple-attempts-to-knock-it-out/). The second article mentions that they're a member of the MIAA (Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association). That's false, the MIAA is for established, reputable private schools.Since the SI article they've moved into a modest shopping center to take their online classes, still have no practice facility or home stadium and still draw kids from Maryland, Delaware, Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
Sills will be a 5 year varsity starter as his previous HS, Red Lion Christian, was in DE. DE allows 8th graders to play varsity in all sports. Eastern Christian is also slated to play @ Spartanburg (SC), vs. Saint Frances (MD), vs. Saint Peter's Prep (NJ), vs. Saint Edward (OH), vs. Calvert Hall (MD), vs. Paramus Catholic (NJ), @ Goose Creek (SC), vs. Friendship Collegiate (DC) and will probably add another game or two.
