Congrats to Matt Akin - Baylor U

Congrats to Matt Akin, former TAPPS all-stater at Seguin Lifegate Christian and now a junior at Baylor University. He's on the cheerleading team for Baylor and last Saturday, carried the Baylor B flag, and from what I heard, the head cheerleader, during the Baylor rout of Wolford (3A?) Saturday night.

Matt comes from a long line of Baylor alums. His daddy, Brad (aka Clairatt19 on this board) used to be the bear trainer at Baylor many moons ago. If you ask me, Matt chose much better ...

Well thanks John. His mom points out that she is a BU alum also! Hey, you know your team is deep at running back if you have a yell leader who went for 2000 and 44 in high school! He told me the other day that when he played football he weighed 170 and benched 225, now he's a yell leader, weighs 192 and benches 305. Go figure.

Outside of your undertaker-brother-in-law (the official mortician of the Lifegate Falcons, by the way; everybody in Seguin knows that Tres will be the last guy in town to let you down), who in your family isn't a BU alum? Cripes, your kids and your nieces and nephews (one of which is a Baylor freshman) have nothing but Baylor T's and sweats in their closets. If the kids lived in Green Bay, they wouldn't have as much green-and-gold in their closets.
