Chester vs Crosby Victory & Praise

In week 4, the Chester Yellow Jackets meet up once more with the Crosby Victory & Praise Sharks. Last year the rain dampened our Homecoming festivities and the Sharks swam away with our Homecoming game. Can they repeat this year on the 'Jackets' home turf once again?

This year we are expecting no rain, no wet homecoming queen (I hope not anyway, but that's in October) and a Jacket victory on dry land. If our offense stays potent and our defense stays focused and continues hitting hard, I can't see this team allowing the Sharks a victory in Aubry Bradley Stadium this year. Our boys are healthy and they are hungry. Shark is pretty good eatin' too..especially if you grill it cajun style. Bahahaha...Just kidding!

It's an exciting time to be a Yellow Jacket. The fans are buzzing and the 'Jackets have been swarming, ready to sting again. As we say in our 'neck of woods'.....Fear the Sting!

It's still an exciting time to be a Yellow Jacket..in fact the concession folks couldn't keep up with the hamburger orders because there were so many people at the game Friday night...and it wasn't even homecoming!

Well in my post last week I said that if our defense stayed focused and hit hard, then we should be able to pull out a victory. I have to say the Yellow Jacket defense LIT UP the Sharks Friday night! There were a lot of "oh's" and moans coming from the stands when the defense was on the field. Well on offense too. I joke a lot about fearing the sting....but oh my goodness..they did some stinging Friday. I didn't realize just how good our defense could be. And it wasn't just one defensive player..it was all of them. The boys held them scoreless and finished the game fairly early in the 3rd quarter. Next up....Oakwood...but that post is coming later.

On a more somber note, I continue to prayer for the Crosby player who was hurt in the first quarter and ask for God's healing hand to be upon him. Best wishes for you and hope you make a speedy recovery. Best of luck to the rest of the Sharks' season.
