Castle Hills vs. Freddy

Easily the game of the week in DII. Bragging rights for District 4 and playoff positioning begin already. Who is it going to be?

Is Freddy still Freddy? Will Castle's All-Star running back be enough? Who plays better defense? Kicking game? Injuries?

I've always been a big supporter of Freddy but the last couple of seasons they just haven't had it. I think this kid from Castle might be the real deal. He's put up some mighty impressive numbers in the first three games.

Obviously the game of the week in D2.

I still go with Freddy. It's at their place. But it's not going to be an easy win for either team ... and Castle Hills has a pretty decent chance to win ... either way, the winner is going to be in the catbird's seat for Dist 4 title, although Lifegate may have a chance to change things in weeks 9 (at Freddy) and week 10 (at CH).

This is a wide-open year in D2. I come up with about 8-10 teams that are in the mix: Lifegate, Freddy, Castle Hills, Living Stones, Orange Community, Heath Fulton, Notre Dame, NCTA, Kingdom Prep, and I probably am going to miss somebody who will surprise me. And none is a far and away favorite.

But remember ... in the last nine years, six of those titles went to District 4 teams (Freddy 5, Lifegate 1). And the only time a District 4 team lost a title game in those years, they had to play a District 4 team (2012).

As a bonus... the three teams not from Dist 4 aren't playing in D2 anymore ... Dallas Covenant (now D1), Duncanville Christway (closed), and Brenham Christian (not fielding a team this year). The only other team to win a D2 title is Granbury Happy Hill, who won the first two (2002, 2003). And they've changed their name, so I could say all five are gone.

I normally dont post but had to take the oportunity to correct the wizard of Oz.

2006 Ft Worth Glenview State champions over Dallas Covenent.

Looking forward to a great season in div II. The division is strong and that makes every program better. Good luck to all. Coaches continue Gods work in these young mens lives.

You know, I realized that after I posted it but I was on my way to Austin to switch out a cell phone and other stuff. So, basically in the last nine years, if you weren't a District 4 team (or what is now district four) and you won a state title, it's bad news for your school. Two of the three are out of business and the third isn't playing this year.

As Proverbs 27:17 says, iron sharpens iron. It should be the district motto.

Maybe! Really they beat OLH , Seguin and Fred ....... Maybe?

Wait a minute. My handy dandy schedule says Lifegate doesn't play Castle Hills until week 10. Now, this win puts my friend James Criner in the drivers seat of district play, but I doubt if he's already put Lifegate in the win column like you have.

My bad your right they have not played yet but have played common opponents.
Even in the rankings CH is still behind OLH and Fred and they beat them both, even the BCS isn't that off!
