After 17 years as the head coach at Prince of Peace Christian School in Carrollton coach Dick Hyslop has decided to hang up his whistle.Coach Hyslop did an outstanding job building up that basketball program from scratch. He has a passion for the game, often times you would see him in different gyms across the state of Texas scouting opponents to better prepare his teams for their games. All of his teams play hard and play with class, they were a reflection of their coach.I personally met Coach Hyslop back in 2002-03 in the playoffs. In the beginning my St.Alban's teams had the upper hand on his teams, but the kicker was in 2003-04 season, we beat them both times in the regular season, but at regionals with a 10 point lead in the 4th quarter his team persevered and came back and defeated us to advance to the State tournament. Over the past six years I have looked at Coach Hyslop as a mentor and a friend. He is a class act , a great husband, a great coach, and most of all a great Christian role model!!! I know he will be sorely missed at Prince of Peace. Coach if you ever get the"itch" to Coach again please look me up,I'll be glad to slide over and have you on my bench with me. Take care coach, enjoy your time with your wonderful wife and don't be a stranger.

God Bless, Coach Brian Rodricks

Hi Dick:

I realize this is not an easy decision, but I want you to know that you will be missed not so much for your fine win/loss record, but for the great job you did in developing these boys into young men with character.

You will be missed, but not forgotten.

Regards,
Todd
