BIG NUMBERS

Faith Christian played a game against the top ranked Conecuh Springs defense. This is Alabama by the way. Their runningback Hunter Simms scored 7 TDs in 13 carries and ran for 360 yards on a defense with 4 seniors. The result was a 79-39 win. This is unheard of against Conecuh. Last year after two losses by a combined margin of 111-6 Faith beat Conecuh 40-35 in the playoffs. They line up with 2 wide and two on the offensive line. Then they run Tailback Option with their running back and use their QB as a lead blocker.Still, what huge numbers for Hunter Simms.

How many 6 man schools in 'Bama these days?

I'd have to go and re-check this, but my records show there is a group called the "Christian Football Association," which is part of another private school group that has a six-man football league in Alabama.

Again, my records are a couple years old, but who I show are:

Brooklane Baptist (Hueytown)
Cullman Christian (Cullman)
Chilton Christian (Jemison)
Lindsay Lane Christian (Athens)
Victory Baptist (Millbrook)
Conecuh Springs Christian (Union Springs)
Trinity Christian (Oxford), non-playing member this year
Clay County Christian (Ashland)
Faith Christian (Roanoke)
Marion Academy (Marion)

This should warm the cockles of Ol' Bearcat's heart ... the group also has an eight-man division. Information at
