AUSTIN CRIME MYSTERY

freeagent

Six-man pro
No doubt the finest minds in the Austin Police Department ... with the assistance of the Texas Rangers, the FBI and Interpol are on this case.

Somehow today, one of the greatest crimes in history occured.

Some criminal mastermind, beforehand unbeknown to any of those authorities, kidnapped the entire UT football team and coaching staff and replaced them with physically equivalent but athletically incompetent look-alikes.

Closest thing I can come up with is the plot of the Bugs Bunny movie, Space Jam.

I suspect ol' Neuihesel has something to do with it, but it could be those stinking' Washington/Chicago political mobsters running the country/

That was brutal... UCLA got absolutely demolished by Stanford a few weeks ago and completely and utterly embarrassed UT today. I'm not a Longhorns fan but next week against the Sooners could get UGLY... REALLY UGLY.

1st off, I believe the ENTIRE world saw why texas didn't accept the offer to play in the pac 10.
UCLA is bottom 3rds in the pac 10.....

2nd off, This is the first time since who knows when, that Texas has played a NON-conf. BCS team and look what happened...... I know since 2007 Texas hasn't played A SINGLE BCS NON-CONF. TEAM....

Texas is the most over-rated program in college football & basketball.....

UCLA proved TX isn't all that... AND .... I believe any BCS team can/will beat Texas....

in closing,
LA PORTE ISD has paid (in full) for the rental of the ASTRODOME for an ALL-OUT-TEXAS LONGHORN-INTERVENTION..... We're gona talk mainly about what's in UT's future, which is a loss to OU, then NEB and a possible BRUT Sun Bowl or Independece Bowl Berth..

Last I checked on www.stubhub.com, Tickets for the Brut Sun Bowl were going for .56 cents on the 50 yard line

Coach Ware is right... Texas is not all that. Far from it. Unfortunately, there isn't a team in state that is worthy of ranking... maybe TCU. Maybe... Texas is THE state for high school football. How are the TX universities not better?!?!

Texas - I will never understand how this school isn't Top 3 every year..

A&M - Ahh remembering the days of RC Slocum

TCU - Not convinced...

Tech - Get it together again!! Please...

Houston - What?

Rice - Baseball where?

Baylor - Waco is located how far south of Dallas?

Texas State - Who? Not even in FBS... Imagine they turned it around and became a powerhouse. How exciting would Texas vs Texas State be.... WOULD TOP Florida / Florida State.

I know there are more... but... c'mon!

How many D-1 programs are in Texas as compared to Florida? I can think of three from Florida - FSU, Florida, and Miami. Oh, there's a couple of more I'm sure - but those are the only three that come to mind.

You've listed 7 from Texas and left out others such as UTEP and SMU. Now, none of these teams are going to be vying for the National championship anytime soon, but here is Texas, the high school talent gets diluted among several schools just within the state border. That's not even counting the defectors who run to Oklahoma, Arkansas, among other talentless states.

Texas football at the collegiate level is a victim of its success at the high school level.

But that does not detract from the joy I felt when I saw the tu-UCLA score. This has been a long time coming. I usually pray for an earthquake, or tornado to hit when tu plays tu-norman. I think I will have to pull for the okies this time, and hope they are able to run up the score and demoralize the sippers and their lipstick-wearing head coach, Mac Brown.

Florida has their fair share...

In DI (Both)
Central Florida
Florida
Florida Atlantic
Florida International
Florida State
Miami
South Florida
Jacksonville
Florida A&M

Still, you are right, TX college football is a product of its high school success. And I'm hoping for Sooner win as well. A big Sooner win. :)

Extra points to you for taking time to google the Florida schools, lol.

I'm always hearing how obnoxious U.T. fans are however I can't really remember seeing very many. But let Texas play a bad game and get beat and the vultures come out of the woodworks and pick their bones clean. Why so many Longhorn haters, I ask. Maybe jealousy? I'm a proud Longhorn fan. I show it but don't flaunt it and I don't belittle the competition. Why can't we all just get along?

If you're counting Texas D1 schools, don't forget to add UT-San Antonio to the list; they start play in 2011 in the Alamodome with Larry Coker (former natl champion @ Miami) as head coach.

There is some talk going around that Texas State and UTSA may be invited to join the WAC; conference needs a couple new members and they would benefit from two Texas schools, especially since La. Tech is also in the WAC. Texas State has just upgraded Bobcat Stadium and has plans to add additional seating (I think they need to be over 30,000 for WAC).

Now where is Texas State? Is that the school in San Marcus? I still call them Southwest Texas State. I still call WTAMU West Texas State, and A&M Kingsville will always be Texas A&I.

Of course. Lots of us still call the joint Southwest Texas. I used to remember doing some work in that town in the early 80's... school must have been 5 to 1 women enrollment at the time and lots of those girls were awfully cute. And I was young and stupid.

As opposed to now, where I'm old and stupid.

Yeah, that's the way it was when I was going to UT back in the 70's. SWT State was widely known as a party school.

Same here. I forbid my daughter to even consider San Marcos based solely on their reputation from 20-odd years ago.
