Six-man pro
Just noticed that Zack Bronkhurst (High Island) was the starting QB for Angelo State University in their game tonight (9/26) vs West Texas A&M.
ASU won 21-10 and here's Zack's stat line:
Passing 18 for 28, 178 yeards.
Rushing 9 for 28 yards
Receiving 1 for 16 yards.
Popcorn sales stats not available, looks like he did everything but collect tickets.
His dad, John Bronkhorst, coached 6 man at several private schools, High Island, and is now an assistant coach at Bastrop (5A, I think). Speaking of former sixman coaches, Wayne Ware, is now an assistant at Hitchcock High School. They opened with a 62-35 win over Houston Christian. It was a come from behind win, with Hitchcock outscoring Houston Christian 48-7 in the fourth quarter. Sounds like a sixman game broke out.
