The closest first round matchup according to this site's rankings appears to be Bulverde v. Conroe.

My thoughts on the most likely semifinal matchup: San Antonio Castle Hills gets another chance at Austin Veritas which it lost to earlier in the season 44-34, and Waco Live Oak replaying Dallas Tyler Street. Waco won the first time these two teams met 72-22.

What are your thoughts?

Although I was off by 10 points for my prediction of district 3 having Castle Hills 1st and Veritas 2nd (although, in my defense I have now learned that #5 didn't play that game....how many points is he worth? I'd say more than 10). That being said...Veritas and Castle are on a collision course to play again for the Semi's and one of them will be in the State Championship

The 3 Wild Card teams from District 3 are going to go 2-1 and MAYBE 3-0 this weekend. The game in question will be OLH vs Tyler Street. But don't be surprised if OLH wins big.

I said it a few weeks ago and I'm sticking to it...the Semi Finals for both the North and the South are going to be all District 2 and 3. And if Castle is healthy they are a very good team...with a great player that can potentially put them over the top.
Waco however, still looks to be the favorite to win it all. They have multiple play-makers and there are at least 3 that can all make HUGE plays at any time. Their biggest strength is no matter which 6 they put on the field they all work together and they all know what to do out there...no weak links. Very few mistakes and a ton of hustle.

District 3 rolls this weekend going 3-1 maybe 4-0 depending on the OLH vs Dallas Tyler St. game.

Thoughtful reply falcor. Thanks!

Does anyone know where the Kerrville OLH and Dallas Tyler Street game is being played?

Round 2. (with last week's power ranking)

Dallas Tyler Street (9-1) (90)
Denton Calvary (5-4) (151)

-----------------------------------------------------------

Cedar Park Summit Christian (7-4) (144)
Waco Live Oak Classical (8-2) (43)

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Bulverde Bracken Christian (7-4) (190)
Austin Veritas (8-2) (79)

-----------------------------------------------------------

San Antonio Castle Hills 1st Baptist (9-2) (87)
Orange Community Christian (7-3) (89)

Discussion? Bulverde does manage to upset Conroe in the first round. The closest matchup this round would appear to be SA Castle Hills v. OCC.

District 3 went 3-1 as expected. However I thought OLH would show better. I also thought Lakehill would at least score against Castle Hills. Everything else 1st round was as we all figured.

This round:
Dallas Tyler St. is going to 45 Denton

Waco Live Oak is going to 45 CP Summit (at half)

Veritas will 45 Bracken (again)

Castle Hills will 45 Orange. I don't know what the toy is thinking by picking OCC by 9 but that's just crazy.

Castle Hills is a strong, physical football team. Lakehill played the game without four players, including 2 all-district players. The score would've been different had they played at full-strength, but Castle Hills is a more experienced & deeper team.

You know, I suppose there is a reason they play the games.

Some of these games will be closer than what's being discussed here. Especially the OCC vs Castle Hills game. Orange is a well coached team and loaded with speed. Should be a fun one to watch - if you care to sit in the rain that afternoon. Forecast is for 100% chance of heavy thunderstorms at kickoff.

Well, I went 3-1 this weekend but couldn't be more off regarding the Denton game. Who knew?!

For this weekend I go with Live Oak over Denton. I have no idea by how much due to my obvious lack of knowledge of the North teams!
For the Castle Hills / Austin Veritas rematch I'm going with Castle Hills. It will be close but Castle has too much depth. Castle wins 55-22

Waco Live Oak and Castle Hills in the Division II state game,

Falcor,

I was surprised at the outcome of the Tyler Street-Denton game myself. I certainly did not see this going 45 for Denton.

I think SA Castle Hills and Austin Veritas will be a great game.

Waco Live Oak amd Denton Calvary will be played at 2:00 pm on Saturday in Avalon.

Castle Hills will roll Veritas. when they played earlier Castle Hills was without the stud and he is probably worth 45 points just by himself.

Waco Live Oak will roll Denton Calvary my half.

45?
Maybe...I drove through the rain to see Castle Hills play this past weekend. Orange was good and came out strong...even leading for most of the 1st half but Castle Hills shut them down at about mid-way through the 2nd quarter. It was bad weather but #5 (I think he's 23 now) was impressive - but not 45 points worth. He's got a good team around him. Don't get me wrong...he's incredible and had multiple indescribable runs. But if I remember correctly they shared the wealth out there with 3 or 4 other teammates scoring multiple times too. #10 ran the ball more than #23 did and he's an old school bruiser. #3 carried some of the load too as did #1 (maybe 3 times). Any of the other running backs were just as effective behind that line. One of those boys on the line, the center, is beyond huge...he's gotta be north of 350 pounds. I think they could put just about anyone back there to run the ball behind that line.
I guess what I am trying to say is this isn't a one man show out there at Castle Hills....they are pretty solid in the run game. They didn't throw much Saturday due to the weather (I assume) however when you can pound the ball like that you probably don't need to throw it much.
I do think Castle Hills wins...I'll save my Finals prediction until after I see the Waco/Denton game! Headed North to see it this Saturday...best time of the year!

#5 from Castle Hills has over half of his teams yards for the season and nearly half of their TD's obviously there are other players that contribute, but the 1 game he didn't play they lost and he was used sparingly in blowouts.
Without him they are not playing this upcoming weekend, and he will be the difference maker and IMO determine who will win state against Live Oak.

7 of the 8 playoff games in Division II this year have been won by 45 points so I pick based on that. Waco Live Oak and Castle Hills both win by 45 points setting up a great State Championship. It would be nice if someone watching the two respective games would post the scores during the game so the rest of us can keep up with the score.

#5 is Really Really good. He finished the game as #23 because his uniform was ripped off his shoulders on the first drive. He is easily worth 45 points. They have a good team around him but he is the key. Orange did everything they could to hold him down. I don't know what game falcor was watching because #5 had 3x as many carries as did anyone else. Orange came out good but had a couple of injures that really hurt. Castle Hills should 45 Veritas..

OK, so I was off by 2 on the rushing totals for #5 (20 carries) and #10 (19 carries)
http://www.maxpreps.com/games/football- ... OlRWAQ.htm

Although, #5 had to leave the game for a drive or so when his jersey ripped off so that obviously altered the numbers of carries and TDs I'm sure. And I am by no means saying #10 is a better back (he's good too but a totally different style than #5) nor that #5 isn't great, he is... but 45 points is a lot to assign to one kid. We'll see...

As for Castle Hills winning by 45...maybe so but I doubt it. Veritas is pretty good too. All that to say...should be a good game Saturday night! Still going with Castle by 30.
