I'm glad to see that someone has finally said IT. The government has become tyrannical and overstepped its bounds. I believe that somewhere one of our forefathers said "that the rights of the majority should never overstep those of the minority." Learned that in history class back when things like "common sense" and the "declaration of independence" and the "U.S. Constitiution" were required readings.
The government is making healthcare one of the "natural rights" this country is founded on. Too many of these commi-liberal-socialist think that "We" that are not to lazy or drunk or stoned to get out of bed come to work and pay our own way should have to pay for those who do not.
I find it interesting that Bearkat brings up the county hospital thing... but didnt really say the 100% true reason for their bankruptcy. Yes it was government mandates.... but it was one specific mandate that brought that crashing down.... the mandate that said that any and all people that walk into a hospital must be treated. So any person who is walking the streets can go in and get medical attention.
So the alcoholics, drug addicts, illegal aliens and others who do not have health insurance then took themselves and their children who are numerous as a general rule to the emergency room instead of to the local clinic.
Anybody who doesnt believe this should go to their local emergency room and just sit for a few hours... most of the people who come thru there will have no emergency... the cold/flu, ear ache, toothache etc
Any time these people have a sniffle it cost the taxpayer $1000 plus dollars because they will not go to a clinic and pay for the services they recieve.
I would say that nobody's children should have to pay for their parents mistakes, but the parents should have to pay for their own
