Union Hill was originally established in 1927.
Union Hill was formed as a consolidation of the Bettie, Forest Hill, and Olive Branch school. Other schools through the years have also merged with Union Hill, including Brumley, Simpsonville, and Bethlehem. Union Hill became an independent school district in 1951.
