Springlake-Earth was originally created in 1923 as a consolidation with several smaller schools in the area. The school was originally named the Spring Lake school district. The name was changed to Springlake-Earth in 1966 when the Earth Chamber of Commerce agreed to purchase the school a new lighted sign on the condition that they add Earth to the name of the school.
