I was curious how the Westbrook, WV and BC scrimmage will go along with the Abbott/ Jonesboro scrimmage. Also very curious how Robert Lee will do. It seems a lot of folks are very high on them this year.
Both Jonesboro and BC will have their hands full this week. That's why I said they would be the dark horse game. I'm not saying Jonesboro can beat Gordon but there was a lot of talk about May beating Jonesboro by 30+ on this page a few weeks ago...
My prediction..... state will be a rematch game this year. It will be:
Westbrook vs. Gordon- a rematch from last year's game at The Jones! Can westbrook tame the longhorns or will Gordon run away with it again?
Or
Borden County vs. Jonesboro- taking it back to 2016&2017. This would be a dark...
After the Robert Lee game I'm sure Westbrook will be looking to prove a point!!! Better watch out for Newcastle though, they have a pretty stout program most years!
I agree, Gordon is the real deal. I think out of the east Jonesboro will be the hardest team they'll play. Just not sure if anyone will be able to show them down.
Judging from what I saw at the game Jonesboro had May's number and came ready to prove a point. They had every chance of putting the game away late in the 3rd or early in the 4th but seemed like they let off the gas..... May couldn't handle the physicality!
Lometa is in with Jonesboro and May, they've been ranked in the 20s most of the season. I think they just fell to 31 after losing to both of their district rivals.
This one should be interesting...... With the loser of this matchup catching Gordon round 1! Jonesboro allowed Santa Anna to show 3 touchdowns, however May went all the way into the 4th with Lometa. This one could very well come down to the last few rocks of the clock! What are your thoughts?
Teams keeping a 70%+ win ratio through 25 years is a great achievement!!! Think how many coaches some of those teams went through during that time period and just the shear number of kids..... a couple bad seasons could spoil that percentage. Says a lot for what those small towns are raising!
I've been noticing lately, instead of playing other D1 or D2 schools that would possibly even be closer to them on top of probably being more competitive games.... why are so many schools playing the Private Academy Christian schools and Home Schools. I've noticed several teams have schedules...
I thought their game plan worked out very well. From the first offensive play they ran right at #1 continuously and wore him down. Once they had him wore out they took complete control of that game.
