    Grayson Rigdon

While I would certainly like to see how he could perform in an actual 11-man game, not just against 11-man players at a camp I wouldn’t call the competition in 6 man weak. Certainly not all of them anyway. He’s just on a different level.

    Grayson Rigdon

I agree with all the above posts. It wasnt my attempt to run him down. Perhaps I failed in that. I wish him continued success.

    Grayson Rigdon

GR…best 6 man player in the past 30 years? Probably. Best ever? If not, definitely in top 3. But let’s be realistic. It’s sixman. Those that say it’s football and it’s still just running and tackling really don’t understand the massive difference in 11 man and 6. The best sixman player...

    Grayson Rigdon

I agree. At the end of the day I believe it’s going to come down to his willingness to accept a much more realistic expectation of his capabilities. Yes, he’s a great athlete but so far he’s been a sixman athlete. Stepping it up to college, much less a D1 college will be hard mentally on him...

    Threepeats.

Fort Hancock four-peates in 1988-1991. They also won in 1986. 5 in 6 years.

    Rigdon v ethridge

Hands down Rigdon was the best player in sixman this year. No question. And let’s face it, likely next year too. But….lets face it. No disrespect meant to this great athlete, but it’s sixman. His skill set is made for it. But jr colleges, universities, etc…don’t play sixman. When you get...

    Gordon vs Benjamin

I agree. Let’s be honest. In my opinion when it comes to sixman, teams get the glory but teams generally (not 100%) don’t win championship. Usually the team with the best kid on the field wins the championship. Example being Benjamin. Do they win without Rigdon? No. Then Oglesby wins...

    Newcastle #2 in DII?

Comes up every year. Seldom is the losing team in the state game the second best team in the state. I believe it was 2019 when Strawn 45’d Follet easily. Both Iredell and the team that Strawn played after Iredell (I forget who it was but they played in Alvarado) could have beat Follet. Just...

Gordon First Team to 45 Everyone .... I think

You may be correct, but it seems like a few of the Ft Hancock teams did the same. Not sure about that though. I’d also add that in the prior to around 1995 it was somewhat of a rarity to 45 someone even if you could. With sufficient players it was expected to give the under classman some...

    Semi Finals

And for the love of Pete!!!! Oglesby needs to work on their extra point field goals.

    Semi Finals

Oglesby topped RS, 62-46. Really hope Oglesby can turn the state game into an actuall game but I have a feeling it could get ugly. Benjamin is just too tough and too much speed. #1 from Oglesby is quick and fast but he’s not Rigdon quick or speed.

8-Man - Lets Revisit This Topic Again Because...Why Not

Older topic but I’ll go ahead and way in. Sixman is an exciting game for all the reasons everyone is familiar with. But there is a down fall to it. The down fall is that no major colleges give sixman players much of a glance because it is such a wide open field of play. With limited...

    Newcastle

Never seen him play but by all accounts I’ve read Rigdon is great athlete. Nothing taken away from him. However, in college when the fields only gets 28% larger and 46% more people on it, it usually doesn’t translate well for smaller, shifty, 6-man players. Not to mention when everyone also on...
